Inner conflicts between good and bad

"A native American elder once described his own inner struggles in this manner: Inside of me there are two dogs. One of the dogs is mean and evil. The other dog is good. The mean dog fights the good dog all the time. When asked which dog wins, he reflected for a moment and replied, The one I feed the most."
~ George Bernard Shaw

In this dual world, everyone of us is a ratio of good and bad. We experience thug of war between that good and bad very often in our minds. In case of good's victory, then labelled as a good person and bad vice versa.

According to the textbook definitions, something that's of high standard and approved by a majority of the people is good and the opposite is bad. But in my opinion, both are mere perceptions based on the group of people, place, time and situations. Someone's bad is good for someone else. For example, someone who lose his job is bad for him, but someone who get replaced in the same job position is good to him. Whatever we do, it yields certain consequence. That consequence might be good for someone and bad for someone else. Of course the example is on individual radius circle, but the same applies to any vast radius circle too, like society etc.

So in my point of view, as long as the consequence of our deed is not harming majority of the people linked to it is good. It's always an individual decision to choose good or bad and face its effects.
